Description
Clackamas Community College (CCC) at the Oregon City, Oregon campus seeks to hire a Cybersecurity Instructor position starting in spring 2025. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.

College and Division:
The Business & Computer Science department resides in the Arts & Sciences Division. As a division we are one of four Instructional and Student Support divisions at CCC. The four divisions are: Academic Foundations and Connections (AFAC), Arts and Sciences (A & S), Institutional Effectiveness and Planning (IEP) and Technology, Applied Science and Public Services (TAPS). The Arts and Sciences Division includes nine departments: Art; Business & Computer Science; Communication, Theater & Journalism; Horticulture; Music; Science; Social Sciences; Water Engineering Technology; and World Languages.
Business & Computer Science Department:
The Business & Computer Science Department offers both career technical programs in information technologies as well as transfer degrees in computer science. There are four full-time instructors in this field of the department. The College and the Department have a long-standing history of collective decision-making and do so with a central goal in mind - students must come first.
The Department

- We offer courses to our students in a variety of modes to reflect the needs of our students. Classes are taught online, in-person, and hybrid (a blend of both online and in-person learning). These teaching modalities reflect the fact that many of our students are working full and part-time, are parents of young children, or have obligations for which various course modalities are required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for developing, leading, and teaching courses for a new Cybersecurity program. It is expected that the first year will be primarily dedicated to curriculum and program development.
Instruction & Related Assignments
- Teaches classes as assigned, following approved course outlines
- Posts and maintains office hours
- Provides students with course syllabi
- Prepares courses and materials
- Reviews and evaluates student progress
- Communicates regularly to students about their progress and responding to student inquiries in a timely manner
- Consults with students about their course, program, resources at the college, and potential careers
- Compiles data for routine reports as required by the College
- Actively participates in assessment processes, and updating courses and curriculum based on assessment results, curriculum review cycles, or externally mandated changes in programs
- Attends and participates in department, division, and College meetings, and committee concerns
- Regularly seeks out professional development activities
- Works with university partners to align curriculum
- Serves as the lead faculty for the Cybersecurity program
- Facilitates program advisory committee meetings
- Connects with industry
- Helps with internships & Cooperative Work Experience (CWE).
- Delivers instruction in a variety of modalities to meet program and student needs including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and/or online

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate Degree with professional/security certifications (e.g., CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), Cisco CCNP Security). At least five years of experience working in IT/cybersecurity.
OR
Bachelor's Degree with professional/security certifications (e.g., CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), Cisco CCNP Security). At least three years of experience working in IT/cybersecurity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree related to cybersecurity
- Recent experience working in cybersecurity
- Experience teaching to a diverse population of students as found in a community college
- Ability and desire to teach cybersecurity topics (including hardware, networking, and operating systems), leading to a career in cybersecurity or further cybersecurity academic programs.
- Commitment to teaching as a profession and to ongoing professional development.
- Enthusiastic outgoing program advocate with ideas and energy for program marketing/growth
- Experience developing curriculum and designing courses in a variety of modalities (e.g. online, remote, in-person, hybrid)
- Experience in use of technology, including digital presentation systems and in classroom presentations.
- Value active learning and student-centered teaching approaches that support conceptual understanding.

Physical Demands of the Position:
The position requires minimal (5-20%) physical effort such as lifting, carrying, or movement, etc. Movements required to complete work are not difficult, and only require some degree of agility and hand eye coordination.

The work environment is usually well-protected, with minimal hazards or obstacles (5-20%). There is little or minimal element of personal risk or hazard. Job conditions are usually comfortable, with minimal (5-20%) issues of confinement, temperature change, incident of noise, or interactions of a disagreeable nature, inside/outside work, dirty conditions, exposure to contagious disease, etc. Position may have minimal responsibility for driving.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel and may assign work to student workers.

Works under the general direction of the Dean of Arts & Sciences.

Contract Information:
The successful candidate in this position will work a 10-month contract and be paid for 175 days including six (6) paid holidays, per the Full-Time Faculty Bargaining Agreement.
Starting Salary Expectations:
Initial Salary Placement will be Step 3 ($80,430.80 annually) per the CCC Full-time Faculty bargaining agreement 2024-2025.
Benefits:

- CCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at CCC for yourself, domestic partner, and IRS dependents; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions.
- CCC qualifies as a public employer under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- All positions at CCC are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
- Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials from a regionally accredited institution, or the equivalent, as recognized by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
- Your official transcripts will need to be sent from the Registrar of your degree granting institution within 30-days of your hire.
- CCC employees must reside within 50 miles of the Oregon City, Harmony or Wilsonville campus as a condition of employment.
- CCC does not support employment work permits or visas.
