Doctrine Writer (Military Publications)

- Experience in writing technical Military doctrine in accordance with AR 25-50 & TRADOC.
- Confident self-starter with professional publishing in a journal, magazine, or other publication work.

Salary:$90,000 to $105,000 annually, based on experience and credentials.
Work Location:On-site at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA (must be able to commute).
Role Summary:
The Doctrine Writer provides technical and doctrine publication work for the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCOE). The Doctrine Writer will perform services in doctrine writing and the development of army techniques publications, field manuals, and joint publications. The Doctrine Writer will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and conducting research on other army doctrinal and technical publications.
Skills:
- High-performing military doctrine and technical editing skills (preferred in TRADOC).
- Talented competent writing skills in accordance with AR 25-50.
- Strong self-starting initiative and writing confidence with effective communication skills both oral, editorial, and written.
- Demonstrated skills in creating, editing, and proofreading documents, including Government publications.
- Effective networking in multi-functional domains, forming and managing workgroups composed of government, civilian, active duty, and contractor personnel.
- Proven collaboration skills in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of doctrinal publications with various subject matter experts.
- Proficient in conducting research and analysis on doctrine publications to ensure full synchronization of comprehensive, relevant, and current proponents of the centers of excellence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Programs.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience writing and editing military doctrine publications; and
- Five (5) years of experience serving in operational military sustainment assignments (military or civilian).
- Past service on an army sustainment-related staff assignment at the Brigade level or a higher echelon (preferred operational Army sustainment experience).
- Minimum requirement of an Associate's degree (bachelor's degree or higher preferred).
Technical Exhibit– applicants must provide samples, links, or copies of written publications.
Work Authorization & Security Clearance
Must be authorized to legally work within the United States of America and ability to obtain the required clearance to meet facility access requirements.
