Summary
The Operational Excellence Analyst serves as a University expert in the application of the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) process improvement methodology and promoting operational excellence. In support of the Lean Six Sigma certification program curricula, the Operational Excellence Analyst will serve as an instructor, mentor, trainer, and consultant at a level commensurate with LSS certification level. This position reports to the Director of Operational Excellence and works collaboratively with colleagues in the Strategic Planning, Office of the President, across the University, and professional learners at affiliated hospitals.

Pay Grade: 10
Starting Salary Range: $58,598 – $69,341

Principal Functional Responsibilities
Curriculum, Instruction, and Mentoring:
1. Provide instruction and project mentorship to external health care profession learners in the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) curricula for health care operations.
2. Provide instruction and project mentorship to University workforce learners in LSS program.
3. Contribute to the content development and delivery of the Employee Empowered Excellence program. Includes professional development training in topics such as Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and other areas of workforce development need.
Operational Excellence and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI):
1. Provide consultation for University projects by implementing operational excellence and CQI principles and practices.
2. Lead and/or mentor LSS Green Belt-level internal University projects.
Communication and Administration:
1. Act as department liaison and consultant to University services/departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Degrees: Bachelor's degree required. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt strongly preferred. Master's degree, project management certification, and/or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
Experience: Experience in healthcare operations, higher education, and/or continuous quality improvement setting required. Teaching experience with adult professional learners preferred.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
