Senior Technical Trainer; Chad, Africa; Multiple location throughout Africa

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Choctaw Premier Services is a federal contracting firm dedicated to providing exceptional support in the execution of international security assistance programs. We are currently seeking to develop a robust pipeline for future contract awards, focusing on capacity building and mentorship initiatives in collaboration with foreign military partners.

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Senior Technical Trainer serves as the principal trainer responsible for delivering comprehensive and specialized training programs related to peacekeeping operations. This role involves leading and coordinating various training initiatives, ensuring all training meets the specific objectives outlined by the team lead and contractual obligations. The Trainer develops and implements training curriculum, assesses training needs, and adapts programs to effectively address and meet performance objectives. This position requires a high level of expertise in military logistics and operations, as well as the ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-national environment. In this critical role, the Senior Technical Trainer will be instrumental in shaping the effectiveness and readiness of peacekeeping forces, ensuring operational excellence and mission success through expert training and leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall leadership and coordination for all training activities, ensuring alignment and integration across different training areas.

  • Oversee the development, delivery, and assessment of training programs to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and adherence to mission objectives.

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of technical training programs tailored to peacekeeping operations and logistics.

  • Conduct training sessions for military personnel, ensuring high standards of knowledge transfer and skill acquisition.

  • Develop and update training materials and curriculum in alignment with training requirements and objectives.

  • Evaluate training needs and adapt programs to meet the evolving needs of the trainees and the mission.

  • Collaborate with other training personnel and stakeholders to ensure integrated and effective training solutions.

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs, implementing process improvements as needed.

  • Provide mentorship and support to trainees, addressing any issues or concerns that arise during training sessions.

  • Maintain relevant certifications and stay current with advancements in military training practices and logistics.

  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and operational obligations.

  • All other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience planning and providing tactical-level staff support to battalion and brigade-level soldiers and the systems (tactical logistics functions include manning, arming, fueling, repairing, moving, and routinely sustaining approximately 500-800 personnel.)

  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders, facilitating clear interactions between teams and external parties.

  • Understanding and sensitivity to different cultural norms and practices, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, to foster relationships in a multicultural environment.

  • Ability to assess situations, analyze data, and make sound decisions based on evidence, including evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and activities.

  • Extensive knowledge of logistic operations, including manning, arming, fueling, repairing, moving, and sustaining personnel.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address and resolve training-related issues efficiently.

  • Knowledge and experience in designing and delivering effective training programs, with ability to mentor and develop team members and partners.

  • Ability to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, with an understanding of security protocols and safety standards in high-risk environments.

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and new challenges, with a willingness to travel and work in diverse and unpredictable environments.

  • Strong sense of accountability and responsibility for performance outcomes, with dedication to maintaining high standards of quality in all aspects of work services.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of U.S. or NATO military experience, including service after September 11, 2001.

  • Relevant military operations, or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building, experience in the last five (5) years.

  • Proven experience as a senior mentor/advisor, military or civilian, to a senior foreign security partner, with expertise in capacity building and unit-level assessments.

  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force capacity building experience within last five (5) years.

  • Demonstrated regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.


PREFERRED:

  • Minimum fifteen (15) cumulative years of U.S. or NATO military experience, including combat arms battalion/brigade staff officer experience on a U.S. or NATO military staff.

  • Attainment of military grade of O4 and higher (or NATO equivalent).

  • Battalion and/or brigade staff experience while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation.

  • At least one (1) deployment to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation while serving in a logistics unit or assigned as logistics staff officer.

  • Demonstrated experience as a trainer to a foreign security partner.

  • Ability to travel throughout the United States and abroad on short notice.
