Job Summary:
Bucknell University's Department of Athletics and Recreation is seeking to identify a pool of interested candidates to instruct a variety of cardiovascular, strength, dance, and conditioning-based group fitness classes to students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Classes offered are on an as needed basis. Examples of classes include:
Boot Camp
Kickboxing
Pilates
Spinning
TRX
Yoga
Zumba

These hourly, non-exempt positions are not eligible for University benefits.

Candidates must professionally and respectfully support a diverse and inclusive student body, faculty and workforce.

Job Duties:

-Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary.
-Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of each class.
-Ensure class begins and ends on time and doesn't exceed class size maximum.
-Teach respective classes on a regular basis and adhere to the cancellation and substitution policy.
-Communicate timely with the Assistant Director on all equipment needs and any scheduling conflicts.
-Assess and properly respond to risk management issues, including but not limited to health or facility emergencies, worn/broken equipment, injuries, accidents, or disruptive behavior.
-Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.

-Must possess a current Group Exercise Leader Certification (ACE, AFAA, ECITS, ACSM are acceptable) or a degree or certification in a related field.
-Must possess and maintain current CPR certification.
-Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education.
-Must display strong leadership skills, be confident and knowledgeable in your area of expertise, and act in a professional manner while demonstrating a fun and energetic personality at all times.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
