The Opportunity and Who You'll Work With:

Position Type: Permanent, Full Time, Benefits Eligible

Work Format: Hybrid; a minimum of 3 days onsite, up to 2 days remote. Out of state remote candidates will also be considered.

Schedule: Monday - Friday. Hours are typically 09:00AM-05:00PM ET. Occasional networking events during evening hours.

The Business Partnerships team is responsible for securing sponsorship and funding for editorial initiatives across all of WBUR's platforms, including our local and national broadcasts, podcasts and on-demand audio, digital display and newsletters, live events, and custom content.

As Account Manager you will be an integral part of the Business Partnerships team and report directly to the Sales Manager.
You will identify and develop strategic advertising and sponsorship partnerships with clients and advertising agencies through media solutions that help clients achieve their business goals; develop relationships and close business; manage existing accounts and meet set sales targets.

Essential Functions:


  • (60%) Build and execute a sales pipeline plan with short, mid-range and long-term account targets. Manage and proactively sell to direct clients as well as advertising agencies.


  • (20%) Manage and grow existing client partnerships.


  • (20%) Meet monthly and annual revenue goals according to sales plan through a deep understanding of WBUR's product portfolio and available ad inventory (including broadcast, streaming audio, podcasts, display, social platforms and custom content programs).




Required Skills

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in a sales role - media experience is valued.
  • Prior demonstrated prospecting experience through cold calling, networking, and in-person events.
