The Business Analyst provides the Research Compliance Department with systems maintenance, troubleshooting, work-arounds, and staff support. The Research Compliance department has numerous systems - some shared with other departments and/or organizational units at BU, and some that are solely in use by the department. These systems include Huron, SciSure, FIDDLE, Kuali and SharePoint. Some of these systems are old and outdated, others are newer to BU or to our organizational unit, or in transition from older systems to newer systems. The Business Analyst will provide Research Compliance with support on all of these systems, old and new, and act a liaison between the Research Compliance Department, other BU organizational units (including IS&T, EHS) and system vendors. The Business Analyst may also support Research Compliance systems by creating and/or testing scripts provided by vendors with new versions/updates/upgrades to systems. This position will also provide training and support for Research Compliance staff, and system users (e.g. research staff, Committee members).
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree required, may consider experience in lieu of education.
- Experience with Research Administration and/or Research Compliance preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience.
- Excellent organizational, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to produce high-quality work reflecting attention to detail and accuracy. -
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management/Collaboration tools (smartsheets, slack, trello, etc), G-Suite, Cloud storage solutions (dropbox, one drive, etc.), WordPress, Content creation using various LMS authoring tools.
- Demonstrates stakeholder empathy and creative thinking, experience with planning of process improvement activities -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
