The Department of Accounting is seeking applicants for a Temporary Instructor position in the Leon Hess Business School at Monmouth University. This appointment is for 2025-2026 (which is a two-semester initial appointment), which may be renewable up to a maximum of three years, inclusive of the initial appointment.

The candidate would be expected to teach 12 credits per semester of auditing, managerial, tax, and financial accounting courses (including intermediate and advanced financial accounting).

Leon Hess Business School is AACSB-accredited and has 34 full-time faculty members. There are over 1,100 full-time undergraduate students in business and about 200 students in the MBA program.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach 12 credits per semester
  • Develop and deliver course lectures, discussions and assignments in accordance with the curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and academic success.
  • Develop and administer projects and exams to evaluate student learning outcomes and provide grades in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • An earned Master's degree or its equivalent in a related field, or progress more than equivalent to a master's degree in an approved doctoral program in a related field. An undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting. Degree should be earned from accredited institutions.
  • Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the university level
  • Ability to work constructively with members of the University community.
