POSITION OVERVIEW

Primary Faculty Position Summary
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Idaho invites applications for an academic year, full-time, clinical (non-tenure-track) faculty position.

We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any area of civil engineering whose teaching, research, and professional experience would complement and strengthen our programs. Preference may be given to candidates with expertise in structural engineering and/or significant professional experience in industry or professional practice. Structural engineering is a vital foundation of civil engineering and provides opportunities to contribute to a broad range of core undergraduate courses. We also value the perspective that professional experience brings to the classroom and the opportunities to engage with industry.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding educator capable of teaching foundational engineering courses, such as Statics, Mechanics of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Surveying, Drafting, and Civil Engineering Analysis and Design.

The successful candidate will also have opportunities to advise and mentor undergraduate students, both academically and through student organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter.

We are committed to providing a high-quality education through teaching excellence and to fostering a productive, collaborative, and collegial environment where students, faculty, and staff can thrive.
