Position Description:
The Strategy, Planning, and Operations (SP&O team) is in charge of developing and implementing the IT strategy, as well as ensuring that the IT services are operating efficiently and effectively. They manage a large portfolio of IT projects and programs and work with various stakeholders to ensure that they are aligned with the university's goals.

- The Strategy component focuses on identifying IT trends and business needs, developing a comprehensive IT strategy that includes long-term goals, objectives, and initiatives to support the business strategy. This component also analyzes the risks and opportunities associated with each initiative and determines the resources required to implement them.

- The Planning component is responsible for developing a detailed plan for implementing the IT strategy through the Enterprise Program Management Office. This team works with executives and university decision-makers to align, plan, prioritize, and manage enterprise-wide IT projects and programs. They also manage organizational change by assessing the impact of technological changes and developing strategies to minimize disruption.

- The Operations component ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the IT department, including general administrative functions, financial management, vendor management, billing, internal communications, human resources, talent management, and culture development. They also ensure that the IT department meets the service level agreements (SLAs) and performance standards.

The Enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO) team operates as a centralized, strategic function that collaborates with IT executives and university decision makers to align, plan, prioritize, and realize the value of enterprise-wide IT projects, programs, and portfolio management activities. This team manages organizational change by assessing the impact of technological changes on personnel and processes, developing strategies to minimize disruption, and working with stakeholders to communicate effectively and facilitate acceptance of change in support of the enterprise program management portfolio. Additionally, the team organizes and delivers technology training programs to end-users on various applications and systems.

The Executive Director, Enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO) leads a dynamic team delivering portfolio management, project management, business analysis, organizational change management, and training to enable programs and projects of varying size, scope, and complexity to ensure successful delivery and intended outcomes. This agile leader oversees the comprehensive IT project and program portfolio, collaborating with campus and IT leaders to oversee major enterprise systems and business process implementation efforts that transform university operations and practices. This position role enables effective alignment between project objectives and ITS's strategic plan.

The Executive Director, ePMO will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling IT projects and programs in service of the university's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.


Special Instructions:
This position is eligible for a hybrid/remote work arrangement and will require regular visits to campus/office based upon operational or project needs.

Anticipated pay range for this position is $174,829 - $249,995 annually, depending on skills and experience of the selected candidate.
